Dream symbolic of re-structuring – Pluto Capricorn square Pluto Libra

I had the most symbolic dream last night. I’m going through some heavy transits at the moment, and my life is certainly reflecting this, so much going on in loads of areas, work, romance, relationships, philosophy, money and my actual body structure.

Transits I have now: Pluto square Pluto, transiting 10th house Saturn square 2nd house Capricorn Sun, tr Chiron conjunct Pisces Moon and inconjunct Pluto, progressed Moon in the 7th house conjunct natal Saturn, to name a few.

In my waking life, I met last year a man (he designs buildings) who is a soul mate of mine, he has been helping me immensly with my dreams, my career goals and my body structure. He has shown me and helped me to fix a deep rooted problem I had with my posture, which affected my bones, specifically hips and spine. The technique he showed to me (plus someone else who also showed me the same technique this year, a therapist) I am so sold on, I will take a teacher training course in it and add it to the teaching that I currently do. I have no doubt that this is tied into my heavy transits, of Pluto in Capricorn (deep re-structure) squaring my 9th/10th house (teaching yoga) Pluto in Libra (balance). Plus the 10th house transit of Saturn in square to my 2nd house (the body, values) Cap Sun. The deepest type of re-structuring I have ever been through. The transit Chiron conjunct to Moon plus quincunx Pluto also helps cleanse and recognise my deepest wounds that are linked with my structural imbalances.

The dream was so simple. I was shown, I think by my soul mate friend, a wonderful beautiful house. The brick work was perfect, everything to the roof was structurally sound. I don’t remember going in the house, I was just shown it by this man and I am sure it was my house in the future. It existed now and was mine now, but I wasn’t able to access it yet. Then, I was at my current house, I saw it and how run down it was. The roof was awful, I even got up to the roof and saw how much it needed improvement. I realised that I am stuck with this old house for now, but this changed house would be mine after a stage.

There are many things I’ve read about these transits, including ‘depression’. I can see how this energy manifests as I have been feeling very down. My usual creativity seems diminished. But instead of fighting this energy, and denying the fact that I am feeling more sober than usual, I am going with it, spending the time with myself, learning and observing what comes up with patience and compassion. Sobriety is just as much a part of life as is a party mood. Each has a valid purpose and something to teach us.

Pluto transits ~ renewal, transformation and self-empowerment

A quote that reminds me of the energy of Pluto transits, or even some Chiron transits, “in the wintry parts of our minds, we are hardy stock and know there is no such thing as a work-free transformation. We know that we will have to burn to the ground in one way or another, and then sit right in the ashes of who we once thought we were and go on from there” ~ Dr.Clarissa Pinkola Estés.

Pluto transits are some of the most deeply transformative times of our lives. During these times, things, situations or people may leave our lives and there is a sense of permanency in these departures. It can be attitudes that we have outgrown, relationships that no longer seem to evolve, places that no longer are in line with our highest good. Holding on during Pluto trasnits to the ‘old’ way of being can be like trying to sail a sail boat against the wind, and it’s a powerful wind to be fighting against. The change that Pluto brings can be daunting, scary or plain denied, as there is a sense of completion in these transits, life turning points that will always be remembered.

How we approach them is up to us, our attitude to them is what will shape the memory in our minds. The more we fight the changes, the painful it may become. The energy of Pluto is that of healing and cleansing through transformation. We also embrace empowerment, or rather, we empower ourselves through facing the changes both within and outside of us as well as facing our fears, our ‘darker’ side, our unconscious and the things that we have hidden away from ourselves or put aside to be faced another day.

Pluto strips us bare and takes away all falsities, even showing us where we are deluding ourselves, and asks us to look at ourselves squarely in the face with no ill intent, in a way, just sitting in the moment and being completely there. The experience can be like a meditation which is often mistaken for visualisation. Sometimes it is thought that meditation is a fluffy, perfect experience where nothing ‘bad’ happens. However, in meditation, or breath awareness meditation, we sit and observe the breath and the sensations of the body, but through this experience and just sitting with ourselves, all the thoughts that were so well hidden in the unconscious start to pop into awareness and say “hi!”, this includes awareness of behaviours that we so often deny we have, the ones that are less than ‘pretty’. In effect, we face our more ‘ugly’ sides, but by doing this, we also face our own inner truth. It is the act of non-reaction and non-judgement to these thoughts that produces a state of bliss and a state of self-acceptance which feels like coming home. This is the one of the energies of healing that Pluto encourages us to explore within ourselves. In itself, this is incredibly heart opening, when we can sit with ourselves, without judgement, simply ‘being’ present, which is also being totally honest, with ourselves primarily. It allows us to love and nurture ourselves simply through becoming present. The sense of acceptance and honesty is very empowering, through getting in touch with our true nature, going past the psychological layers that we build up every day, we can also see more into the true nature and true intention of those around us ~ a fertile ground for empathy, compassion and an inner glowing empowerment to grow.

Neptune and Chiron direct ~ journey through Pisces (11.11.11)

Two planets this week have turned direct in motion, Neptune and Chiron. Both of these planets heal in their own ways, and for sometime, during the retrograde, their energy has been introverted, allowing us to find within ourselves our innate healing potential. Chiron is in the intuitive and compassionate sign of Pisces, and rules a wounding that may stem from feeling unconnected with the divine source of all life and energy – which is essentially feeling unconnected with our heart. In Pisces, the best way to use the energy is to swim with it, bending like a river does and flowing naturally with life. Easier said than done but we have the chance to gradually and in our own time, open up to the flow of life and allow its healing waters to flow with us as we flow with it.

Neptune is just finishing its final journey in the last degrees of Aquarius before also moving into Pisces in early Feb 2012. This holds a wonderful potential for us to really, truly feel a connection with ourselves, our hearts and the Universe that we live in. To learn and feel the empowerment of being in connection with divine love, divine energy, whichever term feels comfortable. While within Neptune’s energy, the essence of the feeling is what really matters, while words can guide us there, awareness of how we feel and sense is what truly brings us connection to the divine.

The effect that this beautiful energy has on our society and world is yet to be seen. Power structures are going through major transformations now with Pluto travelling through Capricorn and Uranus forming several squares to Pluto. Cardinal signs are involved which brings action. Things are changing and will continue to do so as Pluto demands that authorities and power structures change and evolve with the current times. Too much harm is being done to our planet and our societies in the name of power, stemming from fear… ultimately where does this lead to in terms of our planet, our societies, our future generations? Much of the actions that are taken now by those in power are primarily only concerned with the moment, with gain and the immediate generation, it doesn’t appear that much thought is given to two or even three

generations ahead. In the Haindl tarot deck, there is a card called the Son of Stones, based on the Native American Indian spirit of “taking action to make positive change with the benefit of the next seven generations in mind” – something that is urgently needed as consideration from those in power and also within ourselves and the way we structure our lives. Pluto is an energy that cannot be denied or ignored and we will continue to see changes evolving within society as well as within ourselves.

Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, now offering a potential for us to open and connect with our hearts, our essence and the energy of healing and allowing, may help us bring positive changes to our internal and external world. When we take time out, let go of timetables, worries, stress, deadlines and simply allow, through dropping all those extra things that we mentally carry, we are able to tune into the pure vibration called ‘love’, ‘source’, God’, ‘Goddess’, whichever word is used, it is the essence of life and health and our soul. Our internal world is so often reflected externally, through healing ourselves we are healing our world.

New Moon in Scorpio (26th Oct 2011) – renewal and transformation

New Moon in Scorpio! There is an instinctual depth to this phase and this new Moon as we are able to tune into our inner truth. With so many planets in Scorpio (Venus/Mercury/Juno as well as Sun/Moon), as well as Moon sextile Pluto, trine Chiron, the energy of transformation, healing and renewal is opening up to us. We have a potent opportunity to bring integration and healing to issues that may be left over and hidden beneath the surface of our awareness. A chance to truly feel alive as a deeping sense of self understanding is possible.

Pluto, also known as Hades, the ruler of Scorpio wants us to be completely honest, primarily with ourselves. Truth is not always beautiful, harmonious or in line with what we expect. With Pluto, we are able to go deeper, looking into our motivations and maybe understanding ourselves a bit better – discovering our inner truth. When we take the journey into Hades’ world of transformation, renewal and re-birth, we need to be completely naked, metaphorically, releasing all pretence, self-deceptions, harmful situations or people, false hopes – releasing all the things we may carry that may not be the best for our soul’s evolution. During Pluto transits, situations and people may be released from our lives, either through our own will or from outside influences. These people or situations may be harmful to us, no longer in tune with our path, we may have completed our karmic lessons in this lifetime with them. We may find a need to release a vision or dream that, at this time, is not able to manifest. With Pluto releases, the release can help us to truly confront ourselves, completely naked and in a sense, feeling the truth of the soul. From here, re-birth gradually develops as a new chapter now has the space to enter our lives.

Venus/Mercury are also in a challenging square to Mars, bringing focus on finding common ground between the masculine drive for invidual expression and the feminine sensual needs. Venus and Mercury in Scorpio, or in aspect with Pluto, can lead to a fear of loss as well as a need to journey to the utter truth of a matter, past and beyond anything superficial. With all the Scorpio energy, this aspect can lead to intense feelings, iniative to take action, passion or arguments depending on how we express the energies, as we seek to resolve differences and be in tune with the truth of our heart and soul.

Pluto, or Hades, the energy of transformation/re-birth is sometimes feared, a bit like death, the ultimate transformation, is feared. I find it interesting, in scientific terms viewing the demotion of Pluto to a dwarf planet, could this metaphorically represent our unconscious fear of death and change? The energy of Pluto does however bring with it release, transformation, and re-birth and enables us to be completely honest and true to ourselves. The process is so symbolic of a caterpillar emerging from a crysalis into a beautiful butterfly. The process of release gives us the chance to choose how to release as well, either painfully or with love, it is up to us how we choose to go through the process. Coming through a Plutonian transit, or lunar phaes, enables us to ultimatly get in touch and feel our hearts and souls – one of the most empowering things we can do for ourselves.

Mars in Leo – expressing the joy of the inner child (21 Sept 2011)

Mars is now in Leo, the sign that rules the Sun, giving possibilities to creatively express our own inner light and to shine in our own individual ways, to draw out and be proud of what makes each and every one of us unique and special.

There is an interesting yod also formed when Mars quincunxs both Chiron and Pluto from 2/3 degrees Leo this Friday/Saturday. This may help us to root out hidden issues that hold us back from fully expressing and believing in ourselves. We may have forgotten that we are each special – with so much stress in society its easy to loose the specialness and innocence that we were born with. Burdens, worries, thinking of past and worrying about future in these materially uncertain times can cast a shadow over our vitality and weigh us down. There may be deeper seated issues that cause the light to dim and then we get stuck in these patterns, unaware. This yod aspect in the early degrees of Leo may provide a little catalyst to help us re-tune into our inner child.

At the same time, Mars is forming a trine to Uranus in Aries, supporting the need to be unique. The Sun in our charts is where we have the potential to shine, to express the inner child, to play and create… if there is something stiffling us, draining us, withholding us, our vitality will suffer which may express itself in our health and bodies. Mars/Pluto/Chiron can help penetrate to what this may be, and with a bit of help from Uranus gain insight to help us accept and move beyond our blocks.

Mars in Leo – can be a great time to make time to play, take the inner child out for a dance, paint something, draw something, doodle something, make something, laugh, joke, hula hoop, jump up and down, do anything from the heart that brings a smile to the face! ~ the freeness and joy of self expression ~ With Venus in Libra as well as Saturn, we are given the chance to find a balance between the responsibliities that we all need to take on in order to function in society, with creative self expression and giving freedom and acknowledgement to the inner child that needs to smile and have fun.

Venus square Pluto – “thank you” and release (18th Sept 2011)

Venus in Libra opposing Uranus now moves onto square to Pluto, while the Moon wanes as it approaches its final quarter in this cycle. Another aspect of this transit, especially with the waning Moon now, can be letting go and surrender. Venus in Libra wants us to find harmonious balance in our lives and in the way we relate to others and to ourselves. Combined with the ‘heavy’ outer planets Uranus and Pluto, some deep exploration is required in this cycle in these areas of our lives. It can be painful to make the discovery of what we have hidden from ourselves all this time, but also so liberating to be able to let that go and understand ourselves a bit deeper. Waning Moon is also about release and let-go, Venus/Pluto wants a deep examination of what needs to be released, whether its an attitude, a feeling, or an actual person or situation. Through releasing what is no longer useful or helpful to our evolution, releasing something that we have learned all we can from, helps to free us up for new energies to enter our lives that are more intune with where we are presently.

As I personally find myself confronted with relationships that I know need to be released, lovingly, I realise it is time to re-empower myself (Pluto) and establish some balance (Venus in Libra) in these areas. The most powerful way of releasing, I find, is to simply and lovingly say “thank you”, to them and to myself for having the learning experience and now being able to release it and move on. No anguish, no pain, no bitterness, no malice… a lovely nurturing way of releasing and closure, simply to say “thank you”. The energy/vibration of these words and their meaning resonates throughout every cell in the body, releasing supressed pain that can result in subtle stiffness in limbs, movements and primarly in the mind. The loving energy of ‘thank you’, I sense, acts as a healing balm over the past, grounding the painful vibrations and transforming them into something that grounds and enshrouds us with love and acceptance. The pain is transformed into acceptance and relief, the weight is lifted. More energetic space is created for a new cycle in life to begin in its own time.

Venus t-square Uranus and Pluto – being true to our values (15th Sept 2011)

Venus is about to enter Libra, one of her home signs where she is comfortable and at ease expressing herself. This happens 15th Sept, 02.44GMT. Themes of balance, harmony, fairness, our values and possessions, relationships and relating will be a strong focus. What areas of life are out of balance currently, how can we smooth over areas of disharmony, has everyone’s opinion been considered, are we being fair to ourselves and to others, how much love do we allow ourselves to feel…

First off, the Goddess’ adventure in Libra begins on the 16th with a quincunx to Chiron, the wounded healer, teacher and the bridge to the outer planets and our higher minds. It can be a chance to let go of past hurts, with the loving energy of Venus. With the energy of love and forgiveness, we are opening our own hearts to recieve love as it flows in from a Universal source. Venus then flows into a t-square with the Uranus/Pluto square, opposing Uranus then squaring Pluto. Realisations can be made regarding the things that we value, our relationships, our manner of relating, how we relate to ourselves, how much love we feel in ourselves. Uranus is the awakener and the planet of change, though the change can be big or small depending on what else is going on at the time. There may be urges to be more independant, rejection of freedom, need to try something new, to break out of a rut, to revitalise and re-energise.

Uranus wants us to be honest with ourselves, do we really feel free to enjoy life and all it’s beauty, or do we feel hemmed in and confined by some external, or internal, belief or system? It could be a time to re-assess our values and what is most important to us. Pluto deepens and takes us into our unconscious, healing through transforming, letting go of what no longer belongs on our path. This seems to be asking us to be really true to our core values, at this point in time, to see with open eyes what matters most to us.

As Uranus and Pluto square over the next few years, we will all be undergoing alot of inner change and on a societal level. The inner planets will all interact with this square during their cyclic journey around the horoscope giving us a wonderful time of truth and self-discovery. When we are hemmed in by outworn values, hold onto past hurts, unforgiving and cynical, tied up by too much convention, we cannot experience and enjoy the whole spectrum of life, freely and truly. Uranus and Pluto want to take us past the things that limit us, hold us back, dampen us down and into a richer world of self-acceptance, truth and freedom.

Pluto stations direct & Mercury/Jupiter/Pluto grand trine (12/13 Sept 2011)

Mercury is forming a grand trine with Jupiter and Pluto in the earth element now, its not exact but strong enough to have an effect – thoughts, ideas and communications all have the benefit of Pluto’s depth and truth seeking and Jupiter’s wisdom and optimistic expansion. Moon today brings a Uranian energy  joining the grand trine through a square to Pluto while conjunct Uranus which can reveal a need to make any necessary changes to outworn ways of doing things.

Thoughts and communications have a certain depth and ability to penetrate to the truth past all surface periphery, while some gentle guidance along this path comes from Jupiter inspiring wisdom, faith and self-belief. It may become clear what works for us, what doesn’t and why. The Mercury/Pluto aspect is a bit of a detective and with wise old Jupiter along side, no stone can be left unturned in the search for the truth behind the motivation; great for analysis, detective work, accounting, anything that you can put your mind to with the intention of seeing it through to the end. It is good for seeing to our own truth, it can be a great aspect to see if we have been deceiving ourselves about something in our lives, then releasing this with an energy of love/faith/trust/acceptance. It can help us to see the truth in situations around us as we find it in ourselves.

Uncannily, I drew the tarot card Death as I meditate on this astro aspect. The ruler of this card, Pluto, is also stationing direct as we speak at 4,53 Capricorn. This gives him a potency, more than he already has! It looks like it is time to make the changes in our lives that may have been brewing in the mind since April this year when Pluto turned retrograde. Pluto rules transformation, release, power and empowerment in its higher manifestation, in its lower it rules manipulation, domination and secrecy.

It could be a time to transform an area of your life that you’ve been thinking of for sometime, it could be a time to move on and release something or someone that has been harmful in some way in your life. Pluto, I feel can be associated with an alchemist in his work with the unconscious. The energy of the planet has the ability to see into the unconscious in it’s rawest and basest forms, pure truth with no holes barred and through seeing the root of our motivations with acceptance, understanding, patience and love, we are able to gain greater self understanding and self empowerment, turning a previous area of darkness into pure gold. Look to where Pluto sits in your natal chart, when he is transiting and the house he rules plus aspects he makes to see where these changes can now be brought into the light of day.

Mars/Uranus/Pluto – beyond the riots and looting

As Mars finishes opposition to Pluto, the violent activity has dimished across the UK, unfortunately with some deaths resulting. Violence is never good, especially when it harms others in my view, we do have a choice in how we react, however, looking deeper here are some quotes from the looters, one wearing a pair of Nike trainers that he had stolen, said: “Right now it looks like there isn’t a future for young people, that’s how I see it.” He added: “We are not doing it for the fun of it, we are doing it for money to survive.” ‘

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/exclusive-teen-gang-reveals-looting-spree-041951519.html

It looks like the people who have been hit by the various cuts, joblessness are the ones doing the looting, amongst them are what could be considered ‘normal’ or ‘average’ citizens who saw an opportunity to grab things they could not afford either for personal use or to sell.

Some say its the lack of family values in this modern society. Family is the roots, the 4th house, Nadir. Our intsinctual base, deeply held habits, our inheritance from parents and home. The actions of Mars/Pluto/Uranus are very much instinctual and reactive to an inner urge. An anger was stirring in the collective, like a mass hysteria and spread like wild fire across various parts of the country.

We also live in a materialistic society, or at least it has been up to now. Advertising and media use various hypnotic methods to make sure we buy their products, otherwise we will feel a bit less valuable unless we have that lipstick, Manolo shoes, latest model mobile phone and accompanying Ap, the newest super duper plasma hi-tech wall mounting TV. This is the crazyness that leads to a deep dissatisfaction that has been fed to us for years. We have been sold and now think these things are essential. In a recession, there are some people who now cannot afford this and that, but have no idea how to quell the dissatisfaction of not having the necessary resources. The need to ‘buy, buy, buy’ cannot be satisfied, but what replaces it? Various charities are also being cut and closed that helps the poorer members of society, and where do they turn? Sure we do need various technologies such as mobiles and internet to keep in touch, and even to help us learn and grow through the endless source of information out there, but keeping these wants in balance is vitally important to our soul’s well-being. Internet withdrawal symptons have been identified including,

“…feelings of anger, tension and/or depression when the computer is inaccessible;

· The need for better computers, more software, or more hours of use;

· Negative repercussions, including arguments, lying, poor achievement, social isolation and fatigue”

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/mar/23/news.internet

Can the Uranian realisation be that we are perfect just the way we are? We don’t need all the consumer extras to make us feel truly whole inside and out? They are useful in their place but we have to remember who we really are and where our true home is, within. Can we start to percieve that our world (inner and outer) is absolutely fine just the way it is? And can we find the way to our hearts and start to love and value ourselves in our most natural and real state, without the need for an Ap?

‘the most beautiful music coming from the saxophonist as he becomes one with his music on a hazy summer evening’

August UK riots 2011

The August London riots, said to be similar to the violence of the 1980’s riots in London, was triggered by the fatal and unfortunate shooting by police of a passenger in a cab on 4th August. On 6th August, about 300 people were gathering outside Tottenham police station demonstrating for justice. The demonstration that started peacefully ended in violence. Looking at the July ingress chart for London, a few things leap out that immediately describes the violence that has suddenly erputed. Scorpio rising, that is intense in itself. Mars is just near the descendant, at 0 degrees Gemini also still very near the prominent Algol. Algol is the fixed star with a terrible reputation, representing the severed head of Medusa. Amongst other things, Algol represents mob violence. This could have been, beneath the surface, an expression of the people rising up against the thing they fear and fighting for justice. Also symbolic maybe of the underlying tensions building up in society in general. Mars is also in square with Neptune (could that be representative of the petrol bombs that were used…?) and heading to a square with Chiron, maybe bringing out the collective wounding into the open though the violence in order for long term healing to happen.

Mars square the Neptune maybe be influencing the misinformation reported by BBC news: “Rachel Cerfontyne, commissioner with the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) which is investigating Mr Duggan’s death, said the 29-year-old had not been “assassinated in an execution style” and that there was “misinformation” about the death on Thursday”. Certainly, with Mercury now retrograde and opposing Neptune, the issue may well have been unclear.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-14438109

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/aug/06/tottenham-riots-protesters-police

The ingress chart has a cardinal grand cross – Sun opposing Pluto, square to Uranus and square to Saturn, and right now transiting Mars is rossing that same Sun degree, triggering that grand cross. Sudden, explosive changes as the collective anger is expressed. Pluto is also opposite the Sun/Mercury midpoint and Mars is now conjuncting that midpoint – angry voices seeking outlet, use of power, power struggles, expression of ego and a deeply held need for catharsis and change.

Saturn is also conjunct fixed star Vindemiatrix, ‘The Widow Maker’, and when tied up with Saturn, is associated with ‘depressive moods, skepticism a distrustful nature’. When tied up with Mercury as here Mercury is in tight square to Saturn/Vindemiatrix, ‘tied up with Mercury, this star, if otherwise badly place, will lead to nervous irritability’.* Depressed and irritable, possibly weary of the constant news informing us of various limitations due to funding and lack of money, while gas/electric companies and banks keep reporting their massive profits, the anger and frustration bubbling below the surface in society just needed a catalyst to trigger it’s expression – and along comes an ecplise and Mars.

In mundane charts, the Moon represents the people, crowds, women, the public. Venus is peacfeul resolutions. Moon is however square to Venus, the people are not easily going to remain peaceful when demonstrating and expressing their points. Mars also represents the police, and here conjunct Algol is significant of their misfortune.

Mercury and Lilith are also part of the grand cross – Saturn is opposing Lilith, this could show an attempt at repressing wild instinctual feminine energies. But Lilith is a rebel, and along with Uranus there seems to be the power and urge to break free and express what is deep within. Mercury joins them forming t-square to both – the expression of the repression perhaps, channelled by trine through communications (Moon in 3rd house) of the people/Moon. Mercury also represents young people, and it seems the crowd is made up of a large number of young people.

There has since been further violence in another part of London, Enfield, with raids, looting and fires. Transiting Mars is now squaring Uranus and opposing the Pluto in the ingress chart, hopefully the flare ups of anger will not last much longer as the Mars influence fades. This is an unfortunate expression of very angry energies, with one fatality and many injuries. Thankfully also the Saturn/Vindemiatrix is not prominent on an angle, otherwise there may have been more deaths. On the surface, it does look like world war III, but beneath it may be showing the start of long term changes coming about in society. People are frustrated and angry and directing their anger at the front line of authority, the police, in this case.

Pluto = Mars/Mercury (12/12/2010)

Pluto = Mars/Mercury today, meaning Pluto is exactly inbetween Mars and Mercury, all tightly conjunct in early Capricorn, with the north lunar node there too. Pluto brings an intensity and deep transformative power to the assertive and sometimes warlike energy of Mars, as well as the communicative and restless energy of Mercury. Alth…ough Mercury is also starting its retrograde journey back into Sag for much of December.

So, we could find our conversations have a mixture of elements depending on how we handle the powerful combination of Pluto and Martian energies. Pluto = force, intensity, power, re-birth, healing and transformation. Mars = assertiveness, war, action, arguments. Mars and Pluto also both rule sex. Communications could be transformative and healing, with a need to get to the bottom of things that stemmed from the past perhaps (Mercury going backwards), or to re-visit old dramas with a view to transforming the previous battles into healing experiences. They could also be sexual in nature with Mercury initiating evocative whisperings and conversations. Or, if these energies are mis-handled, we could find ourselves in a mental battle or power struggle with another. One might want to force their will onto another through verbal communications.

It depends on how we handle the intense mental probing that this conjunction can bring. If we prefer to keep things private, under wraps or are not ready to face what lies within, then the energy can feel malefic (which is what Mars and Pluto are considered to be). It helps to go with the flow of whatever comes up and allow it to process naturally and with love and patience.

Pluto in Capricorn

Pluto started to enter the sign of Capricorn in 2007, bringing in his path the intense energy of transformation to effect our current structures surrounding Capricorn ruled areas. Pluto rules the sign of Scorpio, as well as being known as Hades, the Lord of the Underworld. The energy of Pluto is transformation, power, sex, the unconscious, death and rebirth. Capricorn areas includes governmental structures, banking systems, money, power structures, businesses both large and small. Looking at the money and power side of this transit brings me to consider the current actions of the latest government installed here in the UK. Not only have we had a change of government style, this new government has been a catalyst for the most drastic changes that we’ve seen across the country in decades. We have been warned for weeks about severe spending cuts about to be enforced, known as Britain’s “Age of Austerity”, which are being put in place this week of mid October 2010 . This includes massive spending cuts to various public services across the UK.

Another taste of Pluto’s energy, while he slowly sweeps through Capricorn, is the huge number of redundancies that are happening everyday in the hundreds, and sometimes, thousands. Small and large businesses are feeling the pressure and cutting their costs. Pluto is now approaching conjunction to the north node, perhaps this is showing the start of a major part of the transformation. The North Node brings things to us for us to work on in the future, even into future lives. The very next full Moon is loosely trine to Pluto, bringing her full light onto the transformation process and so our full awareness to the outcomes, which we are seeing now in the press.

Since July 2009, the nodes of the Moon have entered the Cancer/Capricorn axis, bringing our attention to the home, security and emotional needs vs work, business, structure and status. All the while, Pluto has been slipping into the sign of Capricorn where he will reside until 2024. The subsequent eclipses across the Cancer/Capricorn axis during this time have marked lots of change, beginnings and endings in these areas for us all.

It all appears rather dire at first glance, with news stories that feed us daily with apparent bad news, redundancies here, public sector cuts there. This is just the first glance though, the surface appearance which we know can be misleading to what is going on beneath the surface. Pluto as Hades is the ruler of things unseen, issues in our unconscious minds that we choose not to face. Pluto transforms us, and so heals us, by asking us to face our fears, to look at our dark side and the issues we would rather not face so that we can become stronger and more whole. This can happen as an internal process, or through an external event or person. Either way, when Pluto comes calling, we have no choice but to acquiesce. With Pluto in Capricorn, we are being put through what seems like a very tough time in regards to money, business, security, status and power. Perhaps Pluto is asking us to transform our ideas regarding these areas? Perhaps we are being asked to consider a different perspective about money/power and it’s actual worth? The darkest night is before the dawn, and we are being put through a very dark night as far as these areas are concerned. Maybe this process, hard as it may be, is the only way we can learn how to transform our ideas and current concepts into ones that are necessary for our evolution, through an inevitable change.

Saturn/Mars opposite Uranus/Jupiter/Moon square Pluto!

There is t-square now forming in the skies, which consists of Saturn in Libra opposing Uranus in Aries, both forming a square to Pluto in Capricorn.   These planets are slow moving, generational in effect and long lasting.  Their combined energy is ‘waiting in the wings’, so to speak, just waiting to be triggered by an inner planet which is associated with action, or the Moon which also acts as a trigger.

Today, 30th July, we have two such planets willing to do the deed – Mars has joined Saturn at 0 degrees Libra, with the Moon joining Uranus at 0 degrees Aries.  Jupiter is close by at 3 degrees Aries.  These two planets, Mars and Moon are acting as triggers which can result in events associated with the energies of Uranus/Saturn/Jupiter/Pluto – this can be anything from expansive enlightnement to sudden break-ups and violence.  Moon opposing Mars is a volatile energy in itself – and with Moon in Aries, the emotional air will be assertive, and/or aggressive.  Mars in Libra can represent an assertive urge to create balance.  But at what cost?   There is definately the urge to get things done.  We may have a feeling of emotionally being opposed to someone else’s dominating attitude.  There could be alot of change happening around us these few days, could be quite fast moving, sudden and unexpected.  With Uranus involved, whatever you think will occur, something completely different usually arrives.

Mars joining the opposition adds to the mix the will to get things going, with Mars being the ruler of action, will, aggression, war.  Saturn in Libra is adding structure, and lessons in life, to the sign of balance, relationships and harmony.  It’s a real interesting energy in the air, feels like something new is in the process of happening. Maybe the feeling of breaking out of the old mold and heading towards the new. Mars maybe giving the drive to put all that latent energy into action at this point in time, along with Moon driving the emotions. Uranus in Aries wants to shake things up, change and get things moving, quite suddenly, in a new and different direction which generally enlightens us out of our usual expectations. A strong Libran Saturn standing there amongst all those rebels, but Saturn is happy in Libra, so maybe he adds form and structure to those guys, stabilising an otherwise very erratic energy.
