Neptune and Chiron direct ~ journey through Pisces (11.11.11)

Two planets this week have turned direct in motion, Neptune and Chiron. Both of these planets heal in their own ways, and for sometime, during the retrograde, their energy has been introverted, allowing us to find within ourselves our innate healing potential. Chiron is in the intuitive and compassionate sign of Pisces, and rules a wounding that may stem from feeling unconnected with the divine source of all life and energy – which is essentially feeling unconnected with our heart. In Pisces, the best way to use the energy is to swim with it, bending like a river does and flowing naturally with life. Easier said than done but we have the chance to gradually and in our own time, open up to the flow of life and allow its healing waters to flow with us as we flow with it.

Neptune is just finishing its final journey in the last degrees of Aquarius before also moving into Pisces in early Feb 2012. This holds a wonderful potential for us to really, truly feel a connection with ourselves, our hearts and the Universe that we live in. To learn and feel the empowerment of being in connection with divine love, divine energy, whichever term feels comfortable. While within Neptune’s energy, the essence of the feeling is what really matters, while words can guide us there, awareness of how we feel and sense is what truly brings us connection to the divine.

The effect that this beautiful energy has on our society and world is yet to be seen. Power structures are going through major transformations now with Pluto travelling through Capricorn and Uranus forming several squares to Pluto. Cardinal signs are involved which brings action. Things are changing and will continue to do so as Pluto demands that authorities and power structures change and evolve with the current times. Too much harm is being done to our planet and our societies in the name of power, stemming from fear… ultimately where does this lead to in terms of our planet, our societies, our future generations? Much of the actions that are taken now by those in power are primarily only concerned with the moment, with gain and the immediate generation, it doesn’t appear that much thought is given to two or even three

generations ahead. In the Haindl tarot deck, there is a card called the Son of Stones, based on the Native American Indian spirit of “taking action to make positive change with the benefit of the next seven generations in mind” – something that is urgently needed as consideration from those in power and also within ourselves and the way we structure our lives. Pluto is an energy that cannot be denied or ignored and we will continue to see changes evolving within society as well as within ourselves.

Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, now offering a potential for us to open and connect with our hearts, our essence and the energy of healing and allowing, may help us bring positive changes to our internal and external world. When we take time out, let go of timetables, worries, stress, deadlines and simply allow, through dropping all those extra things that we mentally carry, we are able to tune into the pure vibration called ‘love’, ‘source’, God’, ‘Goddess’, whichever word is used, it is the essence of life and health and our soul. Our internal world is so often reflected externally, through healing ourselves we are healing our world.

Sun and Juno trine Neptune (20th Oct 2011)

Sun/Juno in Libra heading into a trine with Neptune in Aquarius ~ the energy of inspiration can be tapped into and brought into conscious thoughts. A higher vision of harmony and relating is possible that’s in line with our true nature. Committing to our own spiritual truth that encompasses our creative inner essense as well as the essense of the collective whole, blending the two in harmony as the veil of seperateness gradually thins. Walking in the balance of harmonious one-ness.

Venus/Neptune/Pallas ~ standing up for love, selfless love and compassion (5th Oct 2011)

Neptune nearly slipped away from view, save for the lovely trine from Venus to Neptune tomorrow also! Love, intuition and logic are the flavours of the day. Venus/Neptune is the epitome of selfless love, a true twin flame vibe. Ego of the self is disolved as it merges with the universal oneness. Even if we just touch upon a sense of this energy, it can be enough to awaken much opening up inside of us and gain trust – in ourselves and in life. There may be a need to surrender oneself for a greater cause, alligning with and defending their visions. There could be an ability to feel and draw upon the etherial beauty and harmony vibrations which are ever present around us if we tune into them through meditation or contemplation.

Some people say that love is soft and for softies, but the pure energy of love is the most strengthening thing we can do for ourselves in body, mind and heart. If there was an archetype to demonstrate this is Pallas Athene in square aspect to Venus/Neptune. The feminine warrier energy of Pallas could bring an awakening of this love inside of us, which we need to defend to ensure it continues to nurture us. Being born in full armour of Zeus’ head, Pallas represents intuitive wisdom and defending on what one sees as right. Perhaps this is a time to stand firm for he spiritual values of connecting, love, relationships, harmony, our values and how these things can ultimately help connect us with a higher source. Venus/Neptune/Pallas may help us access the wisdom of other the dreams, senses, intuition and general societal trends. All of those objects are at later degrees, its almost as if they really want and need to express their energies at this time. What an interesting combination – love, intuition and cool rationale, I think those all combined as they are can move mountains!

With the lovely Venus/Neptune/Pallas aspect, I draw ‘Going with the Flow’ from the Zen deck, reminding me of the fluidity of allowing in life. With love, beauty, relationships, values, romance, art… the most beautiful times are often times which just seemed to flow without too much planning. With a Venus/Neptune trine, love, romance, harmony and selfless love are in the air and where these are concerned, it may be most natural to let go, surrender and go with the flow of the river of life. Allow the inspiration to flood in as control is surrendered, drawing upon a strength from within.

Mars opposite Pallas (14th Sept 2011)

Pallas Athene and Mars in opposition today, that is, two warriors in opposition one male and one female, with Mars shortly afterwards inconjuncting Neptune before he leaves Cancer. Cancer and Capricorn are the opposing signs and Pallas is stationing direct, making this warrior Goddess especially strong. Pallas is associate with justice, fairness, she is a defender of what is right, she was born in full armour. Mars is a warrior God associated with action, drive, sex, motivation. Mars in a water sign waters down the firey way of expression, leading to the energy coming out in more passive, diluted or indirect ways. Pallas opposite Mars can be about finding a balance between what is fair and right opposed to taking immediate action for action’s sake. Pallas in Capricorn wants us to be a fair authority while Mars in Cancer seeks inner security. There may be some hesitation in taking action due to consideration of what is the right thing to do, or, there may be a rejection of the ‘right thing’ to do in favour of immediate gratification, though with the opposition, we need to find a balance between those two opposing forces to find balance within ourselves and see the balance in the world around us.

Mars, being quite busy in the final degrees of Cancer, then inconjuncts Neptune. With the wisdom from Pallas, some adjustments may need to be made relating to spiritual ideas, dreams and visions, which may seem at odds with what we have found to be right and true for us and those around us. With Neptune retrograde, this may be internal as we re-assess our visions and ideals and how they fit into our current realm of experience.

Mars then moves into Leo in the early (GMT) hours of the 19th Sept – bold expressions and fearless actions!

Full Moon in Pisces at 19, 17 degrees Pisces (12th Sept 2011) – Harvest Moon

With full Moons, realisations are often made and with a Piscean full Moon the realisations may just start to flood into consciousness in a very Neptunian way – intuitive and ethereal, maybe sublime, very real nonetheless. The areas of life and area of the chart that was touched two weeks ago at the new Moon, the very early seeds that were planted then, will now start to come into full awareness. What was unconscious (Moon) now becomes conscious (Sun) and we need to find a way to integrate the two.

In some parts of Polynesia, the thirteenth day Moon, just before full, is known as ‘the egg’ – the Moon is almost at full bloom, ready to release all the creative potential that is carried up to this point in the lunar cycle, it is a very fertile time, full of ideas, notions, movements and actions. Messages may themselves known, we may see signs coming into our sights that confirm what we’ve been pondering on, people may say things that correlate with what we are feeling inside but needed confirmation of. If we had a plan formulating a few weeks ago, now is the time we start to see where and if it’s going.

This full Moon is known as a Harvest Moon, which is the first full Moon to occur before the Autumnal Equinox (this year falling on 23rd September 2011). Day and night become more or less equal at the time of equinox. The Harvest Moon greatly aids the harvesters, giving them more time to gather their harvest. This is due to the difference between sunset and moonrise at this time of year being much shorter, in a way, prolonging the light of day somewhat.

As the seasons start to change from summer to autumn at the equinoxs, I sense the perfect balance as day and night become equal, very tranquil for meditation or any spiritual pursiut. There is a ripeness in the air, the trees start to change colour as they reach full maturity, the mornings contain a fresh dew and a misty sun, shadows start to draw longer in the late afternoons. This lunation contains a Venus Mars sextile in each other’s terms, brings the masculine and feminine side of ourselves into harmony as we balance out the unconscious and conscious of the Moon/Sun. The Moon in Pisces is conjunct asteroid Ceres which is also opposing Venus, another balancing energy but this time balancing our needs to nurture ourselves, feeling what we instinctively need as opposed to our duties in relationships with others. We may be completely aware of other’s needs but do we pay attention to what is inside us also? An empty cup cannot quench another’s thirst – we have to replenish our own inner needs, nurture and care for ourselves before we can truly do this with another. With the quincunx to Saturn and Juno, we may need to make some adjustments to our duties and commitments with others. Pisces vs Virgo show us to balance out our intuition, inspiration with logic and facts. The two can combine beautifully and bring visions into reality, with the right balance.

The Moon also falls 3 degrees short of the midpoint of Uranus and Neptune. This concerns the archetypal, unconscious energy of the collective. Uranus and Neptune together, according to Liz Greene in The Outer Planets and Their Cycles’ says that these two planets in conjunction can bring “mystical or religious vision, coupled with a political ideology”. Karl Marx had Uranus and Neptune conjunct in his 10th house. This full Moon, also square the nodes, could bring into awareness a political vision, rooted in an unconscious spiritual ideal that is felt within society on a rather unconscious level, that will have an effect on society in some way.

The lunation, on a more individual level, the Uranus/Neptune midpoint may help shift old realisations into new ones. We are constantly evolving, changing, as do the seasons, this could be a time of spiritual shift highlighted by the light of unconscious (dark Moon) becoming conscious (full Moon). The Moon quincunx Saturn and the Pisces/Virgo energy of the Sun and Moon, there may need to be adjustments as we sort out fact from fanatasy, or, find the reality inside the visions and goals that come to mind as we bring these visions down to earth. What can realistically be achieved and what needs to remain as an idea/fantasty… The trine from Moon to Mars will spur us on to get real and get moving on our realisations at this time, helping to cut through to the structure and logical reality of what can actually be achieved. The trine from Ceres to Mars, all the while we intuitively focus on what is the best for our highest good, how our soul can be nurtured in the actions that we take, while releasing, mourning and letting go, with the waning of the Moon, of what is no good for us. Chiron is also involved, Moon being midpoint of Chiron and Uranus. This could bring sudden insight into the nature of our wounds, give us a creative reason to express our individuality, trust our insights through and beyond the safe ‘box’ that convention uses to quell intuitions, senses and feelings. It is ok to explore and trust the intuition, its the most natural thing in the world and helps to keep us safe. Trusting our intuition, what we have inside, our senses, is one of the best ways we can nurture ourselves. It is not to ignore the logical, rather, to balance the two aspects in our lives, creating inner and outer balance in ourselves and in the world.

Neptune as ‘beginners mind’ – enlightenment is all around us already, within us and without us.

‘Beginner’s mind’ is a term used a lot in meditation practices, often in Zen practices, which describes a state of mindfulness which brings us to the present moment and away from all the various thoughts that enter and leave the mind every second of every day. If you sit, only for five minutes in meditation and try to bring your focus entirely to one thing, e.g. the sensations created on the nostrils by the breath as you inhale and exhale, you will find just how much the mind tends to wander and then follow each and every train of random though that comes up. With beginner’s mind, we constantly come back to the present moment, letting go of attachments to those various thoughts and the feelings and emotions they bring up. We don’t become weighed down by judgements of ourselves and of others, running critiques and criticism from us or from others towards us. We don’t replay a hurtful comment directed our way that happened two years ago. Instead, we see these thoughts for what they, seeing to the truth behind them. We are aware that these thoughts are the nature of the mind and form no attachment to them, instead, we constantly come back to the present moment, living in the moment – the timeless state. It is a state that has to be experienced as words can only serve to box it into a concept when in fact it is beyond the boundary of words.

Neptune is a planet and an energy that gives the ability to have incredible faith and belief in people. It is the opposite of cynicism, which boxes us into pre-defined ideas. The essence of Neptune can see the best in people and situations and this ability is continuous even if the other person or situation does not always live up to the Neptunian ideal – Neptune will continue to see the best in the other. Neptune tends not to get caught up or stuck in the surface appearance of people or situations, it can get beyond that and straight to the soul. Neptune has no barriers, no boundaries as it merges with everything it touches, become one with it. In fact, Neptune is already one with everything and everyone, in a sense, the same as the element of ether. Ether connects all the other elements together, the air molecules, the fire, water and earth molecules. It is everywhere all the time but you cannot contain it. Rather than thinking and using the logic, it just is and it just knows what is. In this sense, the energy is very much like beginner’s mind which just is, ever present in the moment, thoroughly aware and awake with the universal wisdom that comes from being present and connected with all that is around us. This is a state that transcends time, as time is formed from thoughts of past and future and keeps us limited. The present, the ether, the state of Neptune is timeless and infinite, all encompassing and unattached. It is a state we constantly come back to through meditation experiences, coming back to beginner’s mind and living each moment as new, where incredible lightness and joy can be found.

A quote by Shunryu Suzuki, “You do not meditate to gain enlightenment, you meditate because you are enlightened”. With Neptune, the object is already there but maybe not immediately visible to the everyday eye, we have to tune in, become one with the Neptunian state, to percieve it. We are already enlightened, but need to be still, that is, still the unruly thoughts that we attach to, in order to percieve our divine natures. Enlightenment is all around us, we just need to ‘see’ it with beginner’e eyes.

do you see a cloud, or a heart?

Last quarter Moon, Moon conjunct Algol, Sun/Venus opposite Neptune

Last quarter Moon today, Moon conjunct Algol from Taurus squares Sun in Leo. Along with that, Mars is heading towards a square to Saturn with Mercury still retrograde and combust. Mars and Saturn are in mutual reception by detriment and Mars is the dominant planet of the two, being ahead of Saturn in the natural movement of planets in the sky. This looks interesting as Moon forms a temporary t-square to Sun opposition Neptune.

Frustration and tense reactions may rise… breathe, trust that we are guided on the path that is the right way for us at this time. This could be a frustrating time, but also a good time to cut through illusions and let go of ideals that are not serving our higher purpose, while the Moon is in her final quarter preparing for a new cycle to commence. Mars forms a sextile to Jupiter which may help soothe some of the more grizzly moments, giving spiritual/philosophical backup to see beyond the initial appearance of things to the possible soul evolution that can come out of this time.

Moon trine Mercury rx, Moon opposite Neptune/Chiron – boomerang aspect (23-27/12/2010)

Moon enters Leo midday (GMT) on 23rd, bringing a showy and grand kind of emotional feel where we need to feel that we are the best. Leo is the sign of the showman/woman being ruled Sun, the brightest object in our solar system. With Moon in Leo, gestures may be grand, almost Kingly and even bossy as we want to be the centre of attention and so a few ego challenges may arise along the way as we fight for the centre stage. The Moon also offers the subject of its affection incredible warmth, sharing its life giving rays of light and love – a bit like the feeling of sitting in front of a warm, crackling fire place in the winter.

Towards the early hours of Christmas day, at about 1am (GMT) just as Santa dashes past with his reindeer, the Moon still travelling through the sign of Leo forms a trine to the retrograde Mercury. This might help us by forming an emotional bridge to any troubled communication, with the Moon lending her emotional support to the typical communication problems that a retrograde can bring. Communications could be warm, lively, grand as well as having a showy  or even take charge feel to them.

Later in the day, from 7-9am (GMT), the Moon forms an opposition to the Neptune/Chiron duo while inconjuncting Ceres at the same time as an inconjunct to Jupiter/Uranus. This give us an emotional aspect known as a boomerang for those few hours on Christmas day. The focus, or action point becomes our emotions and the reaction point is Neptune/Chiron with Ceres and Jupiter supporting. This could bring focus to our emotional needs where we need to find emotional outlets for our self-expression. The reaction point being Neptune and Chiron could lead us to explore inspirational, spiritual and healing ways to express our emotional needs, or, we could explore where we may be deceiving ourselves and thus wounding ourselves. This aspect could help to show us how to sacrifice our own emotional needs to be the best in favour giving inspiration, nurturing and maybe even a level of teaching to others, or it could help us find a way to combine our needs with the needs of others.

Coming up towards the 27th December is Sun conjunct Pluto as well as Mars squaring Saturn. Two very hard working and focused aspects, there is alot of power there just waiting to be expressed. We may feel the urge to work hard, or we could be feeling a sense of frustration. More on these after Christmas.

Sun square Uranus, Sun sextile Neptune/Chiron (18/12/2010)

Sun square Uranus today – there could be a few ego challenges sparkily flying around! The Sun reigns over our self-expression, creativity and play, and Uranus rules over inviduality and eccentricity, expressing ourself as a unique being. So when those two form a challenging square to each other, we could either find ourselves trying to find a way to express ourselves in a unique way, or we could find ourselves in a battle with another as a means to work through this. This method of self expression will likely be sudden, erratic or/and completely out of the blue, and if we are on the recieving end of someone’s self expression it will come as a shock.

Luckily, the Sun also forms a soothing sextile to Neptune and Chiron at the same time. This adds a sense of compassion and healing to our self-expression. This could work out in a few ways, we could draw on our inspiration in finding ways to express our uniqueness, we could find ways of healing through the things we express today. Though, as the Moon forms a square to Neptune and Chiron later in the day while quincunx Sun, we could find a bit of emotional confusion builds up and maybe some emotional sacrifice also where we need to make adjustments in our viewpoints.
