Neptune and Chiron direct ~ journey through Pisces (11.11.11)

Two planets this week have turned direct in motion, Neptune and Chiron. Both of these planets heal in their own ways, and for sometime, during the retrograde, their energy has been introverted, allowing us to find within ourselves our innate healing potential. Chiron is in the intuitive and compassionate sign of Pisces, and rules a wounding that may stem from feeling unconnected with the divine source of all life and energy – which is essentially feeling unconnected with our heart. In Pisces, the best way to use the energy is to swim with it, bending like a river does and flowing naturally with life. Easier said than done but we have the chance to gradually and in our own time, open up to the flow of life and allow its healing waters to flow with us as we flow with it.

Neptune is just finishing its final journey in the last degrees of Aquarius before also moving into Pisces in early Feb 2012. This holds a wonderful potential for us to really, truly feel a connection with ourselves, our hearts and the Universe that we live in. To learn and feel the empowerment of being in connection with divine love, divine energy, whichever term feels comfortable. While within Neptune’s energy, the essence of the feeling is what really matters, while words can guide us there, awareness of how we feel and sense is what truly brings us connection to the divine.

The effect that this beautiful energy has on our society and world is yet to be seen. Power structures are going through major transformations now with Pluto travelling through Capricorn and Uranus forming several squares to Pluto. Cardinal signs are involved which brings action. Things are changing and will continue to do so as Pluto demands that authorities and power structures change and evolve with the current times. Too much harm is being done to our planet and our societies in the name of power, stemming from fear… ultimately where does this lead to in terms of our planet, our societies, our future generations? Much of the actions that are taken now by those in power are primarily only concerned with the moment, with gain and the immediate generation, it doesn’t appear that much thought is given to two or even three

generations ahead. In the Haindl tarot deck, there is a card called the Son of Stones, based on the Native American Indian spirit of “taking action to make positive change with the benefit of the next seven generations in mind” – something that is urgently needed as consideration from those in power and also within ourselves and the way we structure our lives. Pluto is an energy that cannot be denied or ignored and we will continue to see changes evolving within society as well as within ourselves.

Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, now offering a potential for us to open and connect with our hearts, our essence and the energy of healing and allowing, may help us bring positive changes to our internal and external world. When we take time out, let go of timetables, worries, stress, deadlines and simply allow, through dropping all those extra things that we mentally carry, we are able to tune into the pure vibration called ‘love’, ‘source’, God’, ‘Goddess’, whichever word is used, it is the essence of life and health and our soul. Our internal world is so often reflected externally, through healing ourselves we are healing our world.

New Moon in Scorpio (26th Oct 2011) – renewal and transformation

New Moon in Scorpio! There is an instinctual depth to this phase and this new Moon as we are able to tune into our inner truth. With so many planets in Scorpio (Venus/Mercury/Juno as well as Sun/Moon), as well as Moon sextile Pluto, trine Chiron, the energy of transformation, healing and renewal is opening up to us. We have a potent opportunity to bring integration and healing to issues that may be left over and hidden beneath the surface of our awareness. A chance to truly feel alive as a deeping sense of self understanding is possible.

Pluto, also known as Hades, the ruler of Scorpio wants us to be completely honest, primarily with ourselves. Truth is not always beautiful, harmonious or in line with what we expect. With Pluto, we are able to go deeper, looking into our motivations and maybe understanding ourselves a bit better – discovering our inner truth. When we take the journey into Hades’ world of transformation, renewal and re-birth, we need to be completely naked, metaphorically, releasing all pretence, self-deceptions, harmful situations or people, false hopes – releasing all the things we may carry that may not be the best for our soul’s evolution. During Pluto transits, situations and people may be released from our lives, either through our own will or from outside influences. These people or situations may be harmful to us, no longer in tune with our path, we may have completed our karmic lessons in this lifetime with them. We may find a need to release a vision or dream that, at this time, is not able to manifest. With Pluto releases, the release can help us to truly confront ourselves, completely naked and in a sense, feeling the truth of the soul. From here, re-birth gradually develops as a new chapter now has the space to enter our lives.

Venus/Mercury are also in a challenging square to Mars, bringing focus on finding common ground between the masculine drive for invidual expression and the feminine sensual needs. Venus and Mercury in Scorpio, or in aspect with Pluto, can lead to a fear of loss as well as a need to journey to the utter truth of a matter, past and beyond anything superficial. With all the Scorpio energy, this aspect can lead to intense feelings, iniative to take action, passion or arguments depending on how we express the energies, as we seek to resolve differences and be in tune with the truth of our heart and soul.

Pluto, or Hades, the energy of transformation/re-birth is sometimes feared, a bit like death, the ultimate transformation, is feared. I find it interesting, in scientific terms viewing the demotion of Pluto to a dwarf planet, could this metaphorically represent our unconscious fear of death and change? The energy of Pluto does however bring with it release, transformation, and re-birth and enables us to be completely honest and true to ourselves. The process is so symbolic of a caterpillar emerging from a crysalis into a beautiful butterfly. The process of release gives us the chance to choose how to release as well, either painfully or with love, it is up to us how we choose to go through the process. Coming through a Plutonian transit, or lunar phaes, enables us to ultimatly get in touch and feel our hearts and souls – one of the most empowering things we can do for ourselves.

Venus and Mercury in Scorpio, trine Chiron ~ healing journey (Oct 13th 2011)

There is a certain intensity today and over the next month with a lot of Scorpionic energies in the air! Relationships and communications take on a deeper tone as we get closer to our truth and understanding ourselves and each other. Words and thoughts have an impact, intuition is hightened. Venus and Mercury both in Scorpio forming a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn – double Pluto whammy over the next few days!

It is possible to bring the knowledge from the unconscious or the intuition into a workable form with the ruler of Scorpio in grounded Capricorn. It is a great aspect for seeing and sensing what really matters to us and great for helping sift out and releasing the things that are not intended for us on our journeys. With Pluto, letting go brings inner cleansing and strength as the door is opened for new opportunities organically enter.

I liken Pluto quite a lot to the yoga that I teach, I often say ‘let go’ while holding a yoga posture as we all hold onto so much in the mind which stiffens up the body. Letting go helps the body release inbuild tensions, helping it to open up and become more fluid in the postures. The same applies for life, when we let go, we allow the Universe to bring what is naturally for our highest good.

It’s interesting that both Venus and Mercury passed through, by trine, the healing hands of Chiron before their journey through Scorpio. It feels almost like an initiation and cleansing of the wounds just prior to the detoxifying and transforming journey through Scorpio, to emerge at the other end like a phoenix.

Healing the heart – Venus trine Chiron (10th Oct 2011)

Healing and understanding in our relationships with ourselves, on a soul level, with Venus in aspect with Chiron. A watery element is present with Pisces and Scorpio, allowing us to intuitively feel, sense and know as we touch upon areas that may cause us wounding. A deeper understanding love, relationships and what makes us feel harmony and love in our lives may be found, starting with our relationship with ourselves and our own hearts. Though there is no real seperation from our own heart, to the Universal heart that connects us all in the ethereal plane.

Mars in Leo – expressing the joy of the inner child (21 Sept 2011)

Mars is now in Leo, the sign that rules the Sun, giving possibilities to creatively express our own inner light and to shine in our own individual ways, to draw out and be proud of what makes each and every one of us unique and special.

There is an interesting yod also formed when Mars quincunxs both Chiron and Pluto from 2/3 degrees Leo this Friday/Saturday. This may help us to root out hidden issues that hold us back from fully expressing and believing in ourselves. We may have forgotten that we are each special – with so much stress in society its easy to loose the specialness and innocence that we were born with. Burdens, worries, thinking of past and worrying about future in these materially uncertain times can cast a shadow over our vitality and weigh us down. There may be deeper seated issues that cause the light to dim and then we get stuck in these patterns, unaware. This yod aspect in the early degrees of Leo may provide a little catalyst to help us re-tune into our inner child.

At the same time, Mars is forming a trine to Uranus in Aries, supporting the need to be unique. The Sun in our charts is where we have the potential to shine, to express the inner child, to play and create… if there is something stiffling us, draining us, withholding us, our vitality will suffer which may express itself in our health and bodies. Mars/Pluto/Chiron can help penetrate to what this may be, and with a bit of help from Uranus gain insight to help us accept and move beyond our blocks.

Mars in Leo – can be a great time to make time to play, take the inner child out for a dance, paint something, draw something, doodle something, make something, laugh, joke, hula hoop, jump up and down, do anything from the heart that brings a smile to the face! ~ the freeness and joy of self expression ~ With Venus in Libra as well as Saturn, we are given the chance to find a balance between the responsibliities that we all need to take on in order to function in society, with creative self expression and giving freedom and acknowledgement to the inner child that needs to smile and have fun.

Full Moon in Pisces at 19, 17 degrees Pisces (12th Sept 2011) – Harvest Moon

With full Moons, realisations are often made and with a Piscean full Moon the realisations may just start to flood into consciousness in a very Neptunian way – intuitive and ethereal, maybe sublime, very real nonetheless. The areas of life and area of the chart that was touched two weeks ago at the new Moon, the very early seeds that were planted then, will now start to come into full awareness. What was unconscious (Moon) now becomes conscious (Sun) and we need to find a way to integrate the two.

In some parts of Polynesia, the thirteenth day Moon, just before full, is known as ‘the egg’ – the Moon is almost at full bloom, ready to release all the creative potential that is carried up to this point in the lunar cycle, it is a very fertile time, full of ideas, notions, movements and actions. Messages may themselves known, we may see signs coming into our sights that confirm what we’ve been pondering on, people may say things that correlate with what we are feeling inside but needed confirmation of. If we had a plan formulating a few weeks ago, now is the time we start to see where and if it’s going.

This full Moon is known as a Harvest Moon, which is the first full Moon to occur before the Autumnal Equinox (this year falling on 23rd September 2011). Day and night become more or less equal at the time of equinox. The Harvest Moon greatly aids the harvesters, giving them more time to gather their harvest. This is due to the difference between sunset and moonrise at this time of year being much shorter, in a way, prolonging the light of day somewhat.

As the seasons start to change from summer to autumn at the equinoxs, I sense the perfect balance as day and night become equal, very tranquil for meditation or any spiritual pursiut. There is a ripeness in the air, the trees start to change colour as they reach full maturity, the mornings contain a fresh dew and a misty sun, shadows start to draw longer in the late afternoons. This lunation contains a Venus Mars sextile in each other’s terms, brings the masculine and feminine side of ourselves into harmony as we balance out the unconscious and conscious of the Moon/Sun. The Moon in Pisces is conjunct asteroid Ceres which is also opposing Venus, another balancing energy but this time balancing our needs to nurture ourselves, feeling what we instinctively need as opposed to our duties in relationships with others. We may be completely aware of other’s needs but do we pay attention to what is inside us also? An empty cup cannot quench another’s thirst – we have to replenish our own inner needs, nurture and care for ourselves before we can truly do this with another. With the quincunx to Saturn and Juno, we may need to make some adjustments to our duties and commitments with others. Pisces vs Virgo show us to balance out our intuition, inspiration with logic and facts. The two can combine beautifully and bring visions into reality, with the right balance.

The Moon also falls 3 degrees short of the midpoint of Uranus and Neptune. This concerns the archetypal, unconscious energy of the collective. Uranus and Neptune together, according to Liz Greene in The Outer Planets and Their Cycles’ says that these two planets in conjunction can bring “mystical or religious vision, coupled with a political ideology”. Karl Marx had Uranus and Neptune conjunct in his 10th house. This full Moon, also square the nodes, could bring into awareness a political vision, rooted in an unconscious spiritual ideal that is felt within society on a rather unconscious level, that will have an effect on society in some way.

The lunation, on a more individual level, the Uranus/Neptune midpoint may help shift old realisations into new ones. We are constantly evolving, changing, as do the seasons, this could be a time of spiritual shift highlighted by the light of unconscious (dark Moon) becoming conscious (full Moon). The Moon quincunx Saturn and the Pisces/Virgo energy of the Sun and Moon, there may need to be adjustments as we sort out fact from fanatasy, or, find the reality inside the visions and goals that come to mind as we bring these visions down to earth. What can realistically be achieved and what needs to remain as an idea/fantasty… The trine from Moon to Mars will spur us on to get real and get moving on our realisations at this time, helping to cut through to the structure and logical reality of what can actually be achieved. The trine from Ceres to Mars, all the while we intuitively focus on what is the best for our highest good, how our soul can be nurtured in the actions that we take, while releasing, mourning and letting go, with the waning of the Moon, of what is no good for us. Chiron is also involved, Moon being midpoint of Chiron and Uranus. This could bring sudden insight into the nature of our wounds, give us a creative reason to express our individuality, trust our insights through and beyond the safe ‘box’ that convention uses to quell intuitions, senses and feelings. It is ok to explore and trust the intuition, its the most natural thing in the world and helps to keep us safe. Trusting our intuition, what we have inside, our senses, is one of the best ways we can nurture ourselves. It is not to ignore the logical, rather, to balance the two aspects in our lives, creating inner and outer balance in ourselves and in the world.

My astrology experiences – Chiron conjunct progressed Sun/Lilith

Heart wrenching situations happen at times, which in the first instance feel incredibly painful. These can be times of incredible change, though we may not initially want or accept it. The situation that has occurred was not part of the plan, so causes us a great deal of discomfort. I have found that times like this have occurred during a Chiron transit to my natal Sun, most recently when Chiron was transiting my progressed Sun, which is also conjunct progressed Lilith. With Sun ruling the male, and Lilith representing the hidden or supressed femininity and taboo subjects, the painful change that happened with me indeed involved a man and a hidden woman. Lilith energy can manifest as a previously suppressed urge which comes to the surface during Lilith transits. It can also manifest as hidden issues, taboo subjects, affairs, rejections, betrayal, depending on other transiting or natal aspects already in effect.

For me, I felt a betrayal from a man I was involved with who was keeping a woman secret from me. I found out during a full Moon phase, which was also a lunar eclipse, adding more power to the full Moon. A full Moon tends to bring a full light to previously unseen things, which can in turn lead to change and/or endings. This full Moon was sextile to the progressed Sun/Lilith, highlighting and acting as a trigger to those issues and it was also sextile my natal Uranus (the ruler of amongst other things, sudden change an enlightenment). It fell across my 1st/7th house axis, highlighting self and relationships with others.

I feel that transiting Chiron conjuncting and stationing retrograde on my progressed Sun/Lilith brought to my immediate attention, issues that I have previously buried regarding relationships with men and rejection, betrayal. The progressed Sun was bringing a light to these issues already in reaching a conjunction to the Lilith, and transiting Chiron joined in to alchemize this energy. It uprooted the previously buried feelings I had deep inside; fear of betrayal and rejection from a significant relationship. The transit brought these issues directly in front of me to confront head on, no prior warning, completely by surprise. The surprise could be the element of transiting full Moon sextiling natal Uranus. The relationship ended, which was an incredible heart wrenching time, turning me upside down and inside out, I was a wreck and my ego was in tatters, I was in a stunned daze.

My natal Capricorn Sun is square natal Chiron in the 4th house, in Aries. My Sun is in the 2nd house of self worth. This associates with a wounded self worth, with the challenging square aspect making this a hard but worth while lesson in my life. The transiting Chiron conjuncting the progressed Sun was triggering this natal aspect. It is helped somewhat by the fact that the progressed Sun is trining natal Uranus. This is helping in providing inspiration and enlightenment to the Sun/Lilith. Its helping to gain understanding of the issues that are being brought up by Chiron.

Through this transit, change has been inevitable, and very painful at first. The Sun also rules our ego, and mine was badly bruised. I had a grand plan, but Chiron was reminding me that its not up to me, rather, it’s up to the flow of life how things work out in the end. It showed me what I fear the most, which at first I was refusing to accept and tried to change, but when it was apparent there was nothing I could do (to stop the betrayal), I had to let go. Whether I knew it or not, this letting go was also a process of letting go of my ego, and my wants and desires. I had to let it happen in just the way it was, which was a very healing thing to observe. As soon as the initial anger, surprise, all extreme emotions calmed down, I was able to view what was happening differently, and with an acceptance. This acceptance was a process of understanding more about life, of facing my fears and realising that it is just a part of life.

Though the Chiron transit was initially painful, it was just the realisation that the ego does not have as much control of life as I thought that was painful. It was humbling, and took me off my castle in the sky that was made of sand, and brought me down to earth with a bump. Its only when we operate from our ego that we see ourselves as separate from everyone and everything around us, we feel we are somehow different, or special, when in fact we all come from the same source. Chiron transits help us to see this, they help transform our ego motivations into more spiritualised goals.made, and fundamentally, my core essence, my soul ultimately grows and matures through acceptance.

Moon trine Mercury rx, Moon opposite Neptune/Chiron – boomerang aspect (23-27/12/2010)

Moon enters Leo midday (GMT) on 23rd, bringing a showy and grand kind of emotional feel where we need to feel that we are the best. Leo is the sign of the showman/woman being ruled Sun, the brightest object in our solar system. With Moon in Leo, gestures may be grand, almost Kingly and even bossy as we want to be the centre of attention and so a few ego challenges may arise along the way as we fight for the centre stage. The Moon also offers the subject of its affection incredible warmth, sharing its life giving rays of light and love – a bit like the feeling of sitting in front of a warm, crackling fire place in the winter.

Towards the early hours of Christmas day, at about 1am (GMT) just as Santa dashes past with his reindeer, the Moon still travelling through the sign of Leo forms a trine to the retrograde Mercury. This might help us by forming an emotional bridge to any troubled communication, with the Moon lending her emotional support to the typical communication problems that a retrograde can bring. Communications could be warm, lively, grand as well as having a showy  or even take charge feel to them.

Later in the day, from 7-9am (GMT), the Moon forms an opposition to the Neptune/Chiron duo while inconjuncting Ceres at the same time as an inconjunct to Jupiter/Uranus. This give us an emotional aspect known as a boomerang for those few hours on Christmas day. The focus, or action point becomes our emotions and the reaction point is Neptune/Chiron with Ceres and Jupiter supporting. This could bring focus to our emotional needs where we need to find emotional outlets for our self-expression. The reaction point being Neptune and Chiron could lead us to explore inspirational, spiritual and healing ways to express our emotional needs, or, we could explore where we may be deceiving ourselves and thus wounding ourselves. This aspect could help to show us how to sacrifice our own emotional needs to be the best in favour giving inspiration, nurturing and maybe even a level of teaching to others, or it could help us find a way to combine our needs with the needs of others.

Coming up towards the 27th December is Sun conjunct Pluto as well as Mars squaring Saturn. Two very hard working and focused aspects, there is alot of power there just waiting to be expressed. We may feel the urge to work hard, or we could be feeling a sense of frustration. More on these after Christmas.

Sun square Uranus, Sun sextile Neptune/Chiron (18/12/2010)

Sun square Uranus today – there could be a few ego challenges sparkily flying around! The Sun reigns over our self-expression, creativity and play, and Uranus rules over inviduality and eccentricity, expressing ourself as a unique being. So when those two form a challenging square to each other, we could either find ourselves trying to find a way to express ourselves in a unique way, or we could find ourselves in a battle with another as a means to work through this. This method of self expression will likely be sudden, erratic or/and completely out of the blue, and if we are on the recieving end of someone’s self expression it will come as a shock.

Luckily, the Sun also forms a soothing sextile to Neptune and Chiron at the same time. This adds a sense of compassion and healing to our self-expression. This could work out in a few ways, we could draw on our inspiration in finding ways to express our uniqueness, we could find ways of healing through the things we express today. Though, as the Moon forms a square to Neptune and Chiron later in the day while quincunx Sun, we could find a bit of emotional confusion builds up and maybe some emotional sacrifice also where we need to make adjustments in our viewpoints.
